Oh I forgot one another reason to mention why I liked Athens that much: It is the street art:)

My friends who asked for advices before keep telling me to write a FOOD post. As I said earlier I arrived there Saturday midday and left in the Sunday afternoon. So I couldn't had chance to eat that much:)

I have a huge to do list for the next time btw.. and new advices are always welcome! :) But here I go..

Daha önce sağa sola gittiklerinde yeme içme tavsiyesi verdiğim arkadaşlarım ısrarla soruyor Atina yeme içme postunu. Ancak daha öncede bahsettiğim gibi Cumartesi öğlen orda oldum ve Pazar akşamı döndüm. Yani bir gün gibi bir süre içinde baya az yiyebildim:) Bu arada bir dahaki sefer için oldukça geniş bir to-do listem var. Yenilerine de açığım, lütfen! Yine de buyursunlar..

Mnisikleous Street

While walking from Syntagma Square to Acropolis, within the narrow streets we found this lovely place full of cafes. Since the weather was perfect, everyone was sitting outside so it was a great spot for chill out on the way back from Acropolis.

We choosed this one on the photo but I would not suggest a spesific place. I guess all has the similar things to serve.

Syntagma Meydanı'ndan Akropolis'e yürürken dar sokakların arasında buraya denk geldik. Yan yana bir sürü cafenin merdivenler boyunca sıralandığı çok tatlı bir yer. Hava da muhteşem olunca, Akropolis dönüşü dışarda oturup keyfini çıkardık buranın.

Fotoğrafta gördüğünüz cafeyi seçtik ama herhangi spesifik bir yer önermek gerekmez diye düşünüyorum. Aşağı yukarı aynıdır heralde yenilip içilenler.

This is dough filled with cheese and has honey on top of it. Great for the ones who likes to eat their cheese with jam or honey at the breakfast:)

Benim gibi kahvlatısında peynirini balla ya da reçelle yiyen tatlı-tuzlu karıştırıcılara gelsin:) Hamurun içinde peynir ve üzerinde bal ile servis ediliyor:)

This one is melted feta cheese with peppers and spices

Oh I am street food lover:) I don't skip hot dogs. Chocolate, sandvich, crumpets etc anything that seems nice is also worth trying for me. This coconuts you see was a new trial for me but didn't like it that much. But still!:)

Sokaktaki çeri çöpü yemeğe bayılıyorum. Özellikle sosisli gördüğümde affetmiyorum:) Çikolatadır, sandviçtir, kızarmış hamur üzerine erimiş çikolatadır hepsi ilgimi çekiyor. Burda da hindistan cevizli şu uzun şekerlemeleri deneyeyim dedim ama bayılmadım. Ben yine de devam ederim:)

Lithos

Had our dinner in this tavern. Actually it has two parts next to eachother; one where you listen to your music from the radio and the other one is live music. We went there early around 8 pm and the music had not been started yet and we choosed the other one. You must go, I can say. We really enjoyed it.

Keep in mind if ou decide to go:

-Reservation for tavern is needed

-It starts around 10 pm:)

Lithos'u gitmeden gözüme kestirmiştim. Bir sürü alternatif plan arasında buraya gittik. Yanyana iki kısmı var bu tavernanın. Birinde canlı müzik oluyor, diğerinde ise kayıttan çalınan yunan müzikleri eşliğinde yemek yiyorsunuz. Gittiğimizde saat 8 civarındaydı ve canlı müzik başlamamıştı, biz de diğer tarafına gittik. Gayet de memnun kaldık. Mutlaka gidin.

Gidecek olursanız aklınızda bulunsun:

-Taverna için rezervasyon gerekli

-Canlı müzik 22:00 civarında başlıyor :)

Do i need to say how much I LOVE any kind of grilled/melted cheese?

A must: Cheese saganaki (a bit salty but should try)

Erimiş/kızarmış peynirin her türlüsüne ne kadar bayıldığımı söylememe gerek var mı bilmiyorum.

Saganaki mutlaka yenmeli. Biraz tuzlu ama deneyin.

Bu harika soslu midyeden yemeniz lazım. Ekmek banmak nedir yahu? O kadar şahane:)

Rock and Balls

I loved this place for its great playlist on a saturday night and the ambiance.

Ben bu bara bayıldım. Hem inanılmaz iyi çalıyorlar hem de ortam şahane.

Althoug this coctail seems fancy, I am not a fan. You can try other or go with your regular choises. The barmen were making other strange coctails with egg white and mayonnaise. It is better not to see while its getting prepared:)

Değişik bir kokteyl deneyelim dedik ve bundan denedik. Pek hoş gözüküyor ama ben pek bayılmadım açıkcası:) Başka kokteyllerden deneyebilirsin ya da kendi seçimlerinizden vazgeçmeyin işte:) Barmen yumurta beyazından, mayonezden değişik kokteyller yapıyordu. Çok midemiz kaldırmazdı böyle birşeyin hazırlandığını gördükten sonra içmeyi. o yüzden seçim önemli:)

We run across to Zaf on our last limited hours just before we left for our flight. Despite the nice atmosphere inside, it took them more than an hour to prepared a single burger. The bread was stale. I only liked the potatos. NOT recommended.

Son gün havaalanına dogru yola çıkmadan önce Zaf denilen bu yere denk geldik. Güzel atmosferine karşın burgeri getirmeleri bir saatten fazla sürdü. Üstelik ekmeği de bayattı. Sadece patatesleri lezzetliydi:) Hiç ama hiç önermem:/

Kabak & Kaş

One of my friend asked for advise about Aegean and Mediterranean side of Turkey. He is planning to travel these costs for camping. So I decided to reply via my blog:) Last year I went to Kabak and Kaş. After years that was my longest holiday in Turkey. Moreover It was again years that I haven't stayed in the same place for a week, like I did in Kaş. Normally, I change cities to get most of everything:) Such a gready traveller:P Ps: sorry for low quality photos. I didn't want to carry my camera:) These are with Iphone:)

Here I begin with KABAK.

I guess one of the best places for camping. I never stayed in a tent there. In my previous visit I stayed in "Kabak Nena"'s bungalows. This place was amazing. (See here my previous post about it--> http://takethefakecake.blogspot.com.tr/2012_11_01_archive.html )And last year I stayed in "Reflections camping" which I would never choose to go again. I can tell you more about "why" but lets skip that part:) However we went other camps bars during the night and there are really great camps in that area.

During the day, you can either choose to enjoy the beach, which is increadibly beautiful or you can go hiking. Previous time, we went for hiking to waterfalls. It was a great experience with remarkable views and nature. Also we went to "Cennet Koy" by hiking, which is next to Kabak Koyu. Again that was a great experience that I highly recommend. Opps! Maybe you need a guide for that. Someone who knows the area or who did this before might be helpful:)

Pek sevgili bir arkadaşım Ege ve Akdeniz koylarına yapacağı kamp gezisi için benden tavsiye istedi. Ben de cevabı blogumda vereyin istedim.

Geçen sene Kabak ve Kaş'a gittim. Uzun yıllardır bir yerde bu kadar uzun süre kalmamıştım, Kaş'ta olduğu gibi. Hep oradan oraya zırplayarak geçiyor tatillerim, daha fazla yer göreyim hevesiyle. Dahası Türkiye'de en uzun tatilimdi yine kaç yıldır. Ve inanılmaz güzel geçti.

Not: düşük kaliteli fotolar için üzgünüm. Fotoğraf makinemi taşımaya üşendiğim için hepsi iphone ile çekildi:)

KABAK

Kamp için en iyi yerlerden biri sanırım. Kabak'ta hiç çadırda kalmadım gerçi. Bir önceki gidişimde Kabak Nena'da kalmıştım. Gerçekten muhteşemdi. (Daha önceki Kabak postları--> http://takethefakecake.blogspot.com.tr/2012_11_01_archive.html ) Geçen yıl ise "Reflections Camp"te kaldım ve bir daha terci edeceğim bir yer olmadı. Nedenlerinden uzun uzun bahsedebilirim ama geçmesi tercih ediyorum. Onun dışında hem denize inerken hem akşamları diğer kampların barlarını ve rooflarını gördüm. Çok keyifli ve güzel yerler var.

Gün içinde muhteşem koyda denizin tadını çıkarabilirsiniz. Ama hiking yapmadan da olmaz. Önceki gidişimde şelalelere tırmanmıştık. Harika doğa ve manzara size eşlik ediyor. Bir başka gün de tepeleri tırmanıp aşarak Cennet Koyu'na gitmiştik. İkisi de inanılmazdı. Ama tabi etrafı bilen ya da daha önce gezmiş birileriyle yapmakta fayda var:)

Don't forget to eat "Etli ekmek" in Fethiye bus terminal. "Mevlana Sofrası" is opposite side of Migros.

Fethiye otogarında Etli Ekmek yemeden olmaz! Migrosun karşısında Mevlana Sofrası var.

So let's continue with my favourite place so far in Turkey: KAŞ

It is one of the few untouched places like Kabak. Of course, totally different than Kabak's hippie atmosphere:)

There are really nice beaches like "Küçük çakıl", "büyük çakıl", "Limanağzı" etc. Also you can visit historical places in Kaş like ancient theater or tombs. Definitely going to patara to see ancient sites is highly recommended (Depenging on how much time you have for Kaş. My firend has plenty of time:) I don't like the beach in Patara but ancient part is really nice.

Don't come back here without doing a yatch tour to "Kekova". You should also visit Kalkan. Previous time I had stayed in Kalkan and visited Kaş during the days. But now what I prefer is Kaş of course!

And among all of them my favourite is Kaputaş.

My to do for next time:

Saklıkent Canyon: I didn't have time for this one:)

Diving: I am diver with one star but haven't dived in Kaş yet.

KAŞ

Kabak gibi az kalmış bakir yerlerden biri. Tabi ki Kabak'taki hippi atmosferi yok burada:) Çok güzel plajlar var; Küçük Çakıl, Büyük Çakıl, Limanağzı bunlardan bazıları. Ayrıca Kaş'ın içindeki antik tiyatro, kral mezarı gibi tarihi yerleri de gezebilirsiniz. Patara'ya mutlaka gidin (tabi ki Kaş'ta ne kadar zamanınız olduğuyla alakalı değişir) Patara Plajı güzel değil ama Likya Yolunu deneyimlemek lazım:)

Tekne turu ile Kekova'ya mutlaka gidin. Ayrıca Kalkan'a da gidin.

Ve hepsinin arasında en sevdiğim tabiki Kaputaş Plajı !

For me, it is the second thing that some to my mind when saying Kaş. This is because of the delicious food, great atmosphere accompanied by great playlist, lovely staff and it's sweat owner Arla.

Mezes are great. Arla likes to use mustard in meze. New taste seekers! Don't hesitate to taste these. I adored and generally had twice of "Paçanga". Seafood are really fresh and delicious. Midilli cheese is a must! And more..

Nereid Meyhanesi

Kaş deyince akla ilk gelen şeylerden biri oldu Nereid. Bunda inanılmaz lezzetli yemeklerin, size eşlik eden müzikle birlikte müthiş atmosferinin, keyifli çalışanlarının ve sahibi Arla'nın etkisi var tabi.

Mezeler harika. Arla mezelerde hardal kullanmayı seviyor. Yeni tadlar denemeyi sevenler özellikler denesin. Ben yoğurtla servis edilen kılıçbalığı pastırmalı paçangaya baylıyorum ve her gittiğimde iki kere söylüyoruz:) Ayrıca kızarmış midilli peyniri, akdeniz yeşillikleri de denenmesi gereken harika lezzetler. Ve daha niceleri..

Normally there are live performance all the time. They are the best place (that I tried) in Kaş making good Lyncburg Lemonade.

Kaş'ta sevdiğim mekanlardan. Sürekli canlı performans oluyor. Ayrıca Kaş'ta içtiğim en iyi Lynchburg Lemonade'i yapıyor:)

Retro Bistro

Mind blowing place with it's burgers and everything! Cutest couple running the place. Everything is prepared with care and attive like in Nereid. I don't know how many times we went there during the stay.

İnanılmaz burgerleri ve diğer tüm lezzetleriyle aklımızı kaybettiğimiz Retro Bistro. Her şey son derece özenle hazırlanıyor (Nereid'de olduğu gibi). Kaç kere gittik bilemiyorum bile:)
